Caught off Guard

"Caught off Guard"
Amber L Bailey
12" X 24"
Oil on canvas
$200.00

Ok, so I finished "the red haired girl" as I was calling her. I really took the opportunity to play with color relationships in this and I like the result of the complementing colors, primarily red and green.
By the way, I'll be showing my work at TSI in downtown Jacksonville tomorrow evening - August 27, starting at 9 pm. I will most likely be showing at Artwalk this coming Wednesday, September 1st too. And...I can't wait to be at the Imagination Squared reveal on September 1st!

Latest Stuff

So here are some of the latest things I've worked on. The girl with the red hair is in progress. The three small paintings were just for fun. I wanted to see what I could use those tiny canvases for. I'll be posting again when I finish the red haired girl. The small paintings are for sale by the way, for $12 a piece. I'll post the price on the girl when I finish. If you happen to follow my progress, you really should come see my work in person! I'll be at TSI on Friday August 27th in downtown Jacksonville. I'll most likely be showing at the old library for Artwalk September 1 as well.

Shane

SOLD
Shane
6" x 6"
Oil on canvas
Amber L Bailey

I'm so happy to post again after my hiatus. Work (and life) have kept me pretty busy lately. Shane is Zachary's brother. To be formal, this is a commission, so I hope my customer is happy with the way it turned out, wink wink :) I am posting 2 pictures because, as usual, it's late and I can't go outside for a good pic.

Jennifer

"Jennifer"
8" x 10"
Oil on Canvas
Amber L Bailey

I am pretty happy about the way this portrait turned out. I have been intrigued by my friend Jennifer's Facebook picture for a while so I sat down and decided to paint it...right off of the screen. I'll bet that was better than having a print. It's late, I worked all day, worked out and painted tonight. I am tired. I am going to re-shoot this piece tomorrow in the daylight. :) I can say I am happy with it, I just wish I could take a good picture! Tomorrow can't come fast enough...oh and it's FRIDAY!

Imagination Squared

Here is my submission for Imagination Squared, a community project for artists in Jacksonville. Imagination Squared is an opportunity for every artist in Jacksonville, Florida to paint a small wooden block that will be assembled into a large permanent fixture somewhere in Jacksonville. The location is still not known. Artists are scrambling to get their squares painted!

Orange You?

SOLD
"Orange You?"
11" x 14"
Oil on Canvas
Amber L. Bailey

I am very happy with the way these oranges turned out. Oh, and the title...I think it came to me because the orange wedge is supporting the orange slice, it would fall otherwise...so I titled this piece "Orange You?" as in orange you glad I'm here? haha. It's bright and fun. I'm happy with it.
