Water in the shade

Summer has really inspired my work and I'm enjoying the short hiatus from painting people. It's said that genius is the ability to reduce the complicated to the simple. Painting water is a great lesson in that! I'm not sure how successful I was in keeping it simple but I'm happy with the outcome of this painting, "water in the shade." This is 9"x9" oil on canvas.
