There comes a time when you have to stop and reexamine just why you're doing something. When the passion and fun is gone, it's not worth doing anymore.

No matter what you do, you are and always will be an artist. You're hands down one of the most talented people I know. Keep your head up and don't let anything distract you from something that can bring such peace, solace, and fulfillment.

You don't have to "be" anyone or anything more than the incredible person that you already are.

Great work from a great person.

Love ya.

~cloneforg0ttenclonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05965276318665686366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883341227045906860.post-13488765300224155012010-07-20T13:08:39.742-07:002010-07-20T13:08:39.742-07:00So nice to see you back ! I love this and what a brave size to tackle. her pensive confidence is clearly conveyed. good for you on your thoughts about being the "artist" If we aren't doing this for our own creative selves, then it just leaves us scratching our heads I think!! congrats, nice piece :)mary maxamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04721510735181325751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883341227045906860.post-2190612883435902372010-07-18T14:04:17.834-07:002010-07-18T14:04:17.834-07:00"I'm starting to think - why not paint wh..."I'm starting to think - why not paint what I love and forget about being an artist?"

That is one of the most inspirational things I have read/heard in a quite a while. I too have found myself caught up in trying to BE an "artist", or "photographer", and sometimes you just have to take a step back and say, whoa, why did you start doing this in the first place?

Like you I have been on a sabbatical from my art, and I think what I need to do is remind myself why I fell in love with it to begin with. Thanks :)

As for the painting, dang girl. That's a hell of a comeback. It'll be hard to follow that up. I really like it, and I think it will make a great piece for your wall.

Thanks for sharing!John Cowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06586513040519571477noreply@blogger.com
